The New LG Vu is Sleek and Light

The LG Vu is a sleek, innovative cell phone that is part of the AT&T network. Unlike other LG models, the Vu is a fully touch screen model. Past models have either been a combination of keyboard and touch screen or only keyboard. The benefit to this is that it is lighter and slimmer, making it more attractive to some. The screen has a 3-inch display with customizable icons on the homepage.

The dial pad keys are large, but the texting keys are smaller. The phone memorizes the way the user touches the screen as to avoid pressing the wrong buttons. This makes texting fast and easy to do using the QWERTY touch screen keyboard. A stylus pen is not required or useful for this phone. The user can choose the level of vibration intensity for when they touch the screen.

What makes the LG Vu most innovative is its ability to connect to the AT&T Mobile TV. There the user can raise the antennae hidden in the phone and watch live television networks, such as ESPN and Disney Channel, among many others. While the full HTML browser is faster than older AT&T phones, the streaming video still tends to be somewhat choppy at times. Overall, the quality is decent enough to watch TV or browse the web on.

There is a 2.0 megapixel camera on the phone. However, it does lack a flash, which is unusual for this newer LG model. The look of this sleek model is a glossy black that attracts fingerprints. It has an enclosed plastic casing and features no-hack buttons that prevents accidentally turning the camera on or the power off. It has most of the usual features, such as speakerphone, music player, alarm, games, calculator and tip calculator, world clock and a notepad.

Users can download new games and apps onto their LG at a charge. There are hundreds of apps available, but none as extensive as the Apple store. One free app is the Social Networking app to connect with friends on Facebook, Twitter and Myspace. This new phone is one of the nicer phones available this year with its lightweight body, touch screen and the new AT&T Mobile TV.
